FUNFACTS
ABOUT ME

I am something like a rock in water since I never learned to swim.

 

I love rocking the crowd on a karaoke night. Besides, it's about the performance, not the voice, right?

I started a business thrifting and refinishing or refurbishing old pieces I find into cute treasures. The only problem is I've kept them all:)

 

I am a registered nurse with over 15 years experience in nephrology (ie: kidney disease) really 20 lol not showing all my age, hahaha. 

 

I take Chicago-style stepping classes with my soon-to-be hubby every week. The classes resemble ballroom dancing with smooth vibes.

My passion to help others began over 20 years in my profession as a registered nurse which led me to find my purpose in helping other women feel more confident, love themselves, and overcome the stereotypes of resistance training. I realize there is a negative perception of women's weight training that exists. I enjoy helping women feel better, look better and think better. All these aspects emotional, spiritual, and physical affect your success which is why I work with my clients together to form more optimistic and realistic goals. I believe in helping you take better care of the whole of you. 

As a mom, a nurse, and a trainer (3 of many hats I wear lol) I understand how busy life can be, and changing behaviors and thoughts around my fitness/wellness allow me to understand. I have more compassion and understanding of each of my clients' individual needs.

When I first began working out, I fell into the cycle of doing hours of cardio, 6-7 days a week. After having my last baby, that pregnancy took a toll on my body. I developed the dreaded bat wings. I remember looking at myself in the mirror and thinking “Michelle, something’s gotta change”.  I decided to try something new at the gym. I picked up some weights and haven’t looked back since. I fell in love with resistance training and my mindset completely changed towards weight lifting and so did my body composition.

My goal as a trainer is to help women change their mindset of weightlifting “makes you look like a man”  and educate you on the benefit of resistance training and the positive impact it has on our body especially as we age. As your trainer, my goal is also to educate, communicate and lead by example as well as be your biggest cheerleader and accountability partner while you put in the work. I understand you may be nervous about hiring a trainer and I know what to expect and maybe feeling of being judged, but I assure you I'll do what’s needed to guide you through this process to be successful.
